  • Be careful not to keep too many browser tabs open, as that can use a lot of RAM and cause your browser to leak memory, slowing down your computer

We’ve noticed several software incompatibilities that are a result of one program being current while another program hasn’t been fully tested.

  • According to Intuit, Quickbooks has not been fully tested for compatibility with Office 2016. The resulting problem is that you cannot email invoices or estimates from Quickbooks if you have Outlook 2016 installed. There is no work around for this, so the recommendation is to stay with Office 2013.
  • According to Intuit, Quickbooks hasn’t been fully tested with Windows 10. The resulting problem is that you cannot print checks. There is no work around for this at this time, and everything else appears to work fine.
  • HP Solutions Center will not scan to email on Windows 10. The work around is to scan to a folder and then attach the scan to the email after the fact.

It’s important to check compatibility lists before you install new software in a business environment, but even then, all software nuances aren’t fully realized until you come across them. As a general rule of thumb, we don’t recommend that you get the latest version of software in a business environment until it has one revision under its belt and has been fully tested.
